Getting ready to serve the Lord

This week I begin preparations to serve the Lord. I am going on a mission trip to Chicago, IL. I will be with a team of 17 lead by Frank Germia. We will be serving the Family Empowerment Center in the Nothern part of Chicago (Rogers Park area).
We will be trained in areas of the Holy Spirit/Spiritual Battles, the Culture-Urban Dynamics, Loving Our Neighbors-Servant Evangelism, visiting with Hindus and Muslims. We are a church on mission going to serve others and come back change. I am excited to see what God has planned for me and to let him have complete control. In the evenings we will be working with AWANA soccer camp. The mission is is to glorify God, love my neighbors and stregthen urban familes through the power of Jesus Christ.
For more information on where I will be here is the link:

I am asking for prayer of our team of 19. Pray for our safety, pray for God to great things in our lives, that we come back changed, continuing to serve the Lord.

Bible verses to keep me strong during this week of preparation:
John 4:34-38 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”
Acts 6:4 but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
Romans 12:4-8 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
2 Corinthians 3:8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious?
2 Corinthians 6:3 We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed.
1 Timothy 4:12Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Matthew 28:18-20 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
