Franklin Twp Day

Franklin Twp day is a special day in our town. It marks the start of fall sports with soccer games, carnival games, food, fun, and fireworks. It is a great day to spend with friends and family. This year is especially special due to the remembrance of 10 years ago and the terrible events of September 11th.
This year Peyton performed with her cheerleading squad and dance team. Tomorrow both kids will have football games. Carson has his first flag football game of the season. He is super excited because his favorite coach, his dad, will be there by his side. Peyton cheers on her friends as they compete in their first game of the season as well. Here is a small clip of her Hello Cheer and Dance.

Video from Great Adventure

Here is the video of her jazz routine to Justin Bieber's "Baby". It has come a long way. They still have a month left to get the entire routine together for recital and competition. This was the first time that they did the routine without a teacher and in front of dance troops from all over PA and NJ.

Peyton is located on the left side of the video.

Here is some video of our appearance on the Today Show. My next door neighbor was able to record it.

NY Trip Continued

American Girl Place in NY

On our trip we went to the American Girl Place. We had a great time. Peyton had asked for Kanani-The Girl of the Year for 2011. We had agreed that it would be part of her 7th b-day present. We had tea at the cafe. We were able to the displays for each heritage doll. It was neat to see and compare to the Chicago store. The NY store is smaller than the Chicago store and the layout is different, but the experience is the same-priceless. Peyton couldn't leave without an outfit for Emily-so we bought her a tap dance outfit.

After the American Girl place we headed back to the hotel. We stayed at the Fitzpatrick about 7 blocks away. It was a very nice place and we had a suite to split with Dave's parents. We were exhausted after a long day of shopping and walking in the cold.

The next day we had a few things planned. We wanted to go to Rockfeller Center so that we could see where they have the Today show and the skating rink. We were able to go to Rockefeller Center and Peyton and I got on t.v. it was a very neat experience. We also had a chance to go into Trump Tower. This was neat to see where they do the firing on the show Apprentice. We wnet back to the hotel for about an hour before heading back out to Ground Zero and a German Restaraunt in Greenwich Village. After that we went back to the hotel to check out and hit the subway down to Brooklyn to the 9/11 museum.

New York City Trip

Disney in NY. We saw Mickey and Minnie and were able to go inside the Disney Store that was 2 floors. It was neat to see all the Disney stuff made for those shopping in NY.

On our walk we saw the Broadway signs for Mary Poppins and Lion King. Tickets were a little expensive for this trip, but maybe next time.

In Times Square...

We took the train from Princeton Junction to Penn Station 34th in NYC. The kids had a great time riding the train. When we walked out of the train station their eyes lit up with all that was around them. The lights, the signs, the cars, and the people. What an amazing experience for them. After we took a walk through Times Square we continued on our way to our hotel. Window shopping and enjoying the big stores. We headed towards a diner for breakfast. It was called the Stardust Diner. Here all the employees sing as they wait on you. It was neat for Peyton as this would probably be one of her dreams. We had a great breakfast and then continued on our way. We went past the Ed Sullivan Theatre where David Letterman is filmed. We went to F.A.O. Schwartz where the kids were amazed to see stuffed animals from the floor to the ceiling. Legos, Barbie and so much more were there to greet us.

At F.A.O Schwartz the kids loved to see the isles of stuffed animals bigger than us. They walked around and through to every department from one wonder to another. We saw the gigantic piano that was used in the movie "BIG" however we were unable to go on it because of a birthday party. We did get to see the amazing lego displays, candy displays, and books.
